The maximum sentence for a Class B felony is up to 25 years in prison while it is up to five years in prison for a Class D felony.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says each was operating a small boat in the early morning hours of May 19, 2012 when the crash occurred in the O’Donnell Slough area.
