Contract Extension for Keokuk Superintendent

The head of the Keokuk School District has received a contract extension.

The school board voted 4-2 to add one year to Superintendent Tim Hood’s contract and to reset the contract to year one of a three year deal.

His salary will be in excess of $160,000 for the upcoming school year.

An attempt to extend Hood’s contract last month ended in a 3-3 deadlock.

The board members who voted no, at that time, expressed concerns about whether Hood had accomplished the goals set for him.

The goals have not been made public despite requests from Tri States Public Radio.

This time around, board member Sandy Stark provided the fourth vote needed for approval.  She left the June meeting prior to the vote on the contract.
