Keokuk Police Arrests Two for January 2016 Shooting

The Keokuk Police Department has arrested two people in connection with a January 2016 shooting.

Matthew Crews, 28, of Keokuk, was arrested on Oct. 12 and charged with Attempted Murder, Burglary, Robbery, and two counts of Animal Abuse.

Drake Woods, 25, of rural Keokuk, was arrested on Oct. 16 and charged with Aiding and Abbetting Robbery and Aiding and Abetting Burglary.

Police said the arrests resulted from an investigation into a shooting at 300 Belnap Place in the early morning hours of January 7, 2016.

Officers at the scene found a 31-year-old man had been shot three times. Two dogs had also been shot.

Crews and Woods were taken to the Lee County Jail.
