Leadership Change at Greater Burlington Partnership

Jason Parrott's guests are Dennis Hinkle and Jason Hutcheson with the Greater Burlington Partnership.  The discuss the organization and an upcoming change in leadership.

The Greater Burlington Partnership is an umbrella organization for four similar agencies: Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Partners, Inc., the Economic Development Division, and the Convention and Visitor's Bureau.

Hinkle's current role with the Partnership is President/CEO while Hutcheson is Vice President.

Things will change in the very near future with Hinkle retiring next month and Hutcheson taking the reigns.

Both announcements came roughly one year ago to allow for a smooth transition.

Hinkle says he thought long and hard about his decision, adding that he appreciates it when people step down on their own terms.

He says the Partnership is moving in the right direction, with one vision and four missions.

Hinkle says Hutcheson is ready and able to take over and continue to push the organization forward.

Hutcheson says he has spent the last year picking Hinkle's brain and reaching out to as many people as possible to gather input and share his views.

Hutcheson says his top priority will be economic development/job growth.

The two men each feel the Burlington area is primed for both, as long as the community remains dynamic and attractive with a young, growing workforce.
