Macomb Police Investigating Man’s Death

Rich Egger

A Macomb man died shortly after getting into a fight but police say the cause of death remains undetermined.

“We don’t know what we have yet,” said Chief Curt Barker.  “We’re still conducting a death investigation and we won’t have a determination as to where we’re going with this investigation until after we’ve conducted the autopsy and finished the investigation.”

The autopsy was scheduled for Monday but Barker did not know when police would receive the results from it.

Police were called to the home of Ramone Doyle, 43, at 515 East Pierce Street shortly after 8:00 am Sunday.  The person who called 911 said Doyle was not breathing.

Doyle was taken to McDonough District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Barker said the fight happened just before police were called. He declined to say whether the caller was the person who had fought Doyle.
