Macomb Resident Challenges Community To Make A Difference

Western Illinois University

A former Western Illinois University professor who's a longtime Macomb resident is urging the community to join him in donating to the Humane Society of McDonough County.

Chris Brix was teaching a class some time ago when a student of his invited him to a Humane Society fundraiser that generated money for animal vaccinations.

After attending the event, Brix started thinking of more ways he could give back, and decided to issue a promotional challenge in hopes of raising even more money for the cause. Brix said he will match up to $1,000 in donations.

"Everyone in town has taken on to this, and I just cannot believe it.  It's just wonderful," Brix said.

Anyone interested in donating can make a check out to Humane Society of McDonough County.

Donations will be accepted until October 31.
