UPDATE: Ameren Illinois has restored power to many customers in west central Illinois as of 8 a.m. Wednesday. Still about 1,000 residents of Knox County and 500 people in Warren County still do not have power.
Ameren Illinois reports about 3,428 customers in Knox County remain in the dark as of Tuesday morning. That's in addition to about a hundred residents in Henderson County and Hancock County who are in the dark. A handful of homes in McDonough County and about 800 residents of Warren County are also without power.
According to Ameren Illinois’ website, field crews and support staff have been actively engaged in restoration services following an intense line of storms that brought wind, rain and ice across the Ameren Illinois service territory early Sunday morning into Monday. Ameren Illinois activated its Emergency Operations Center and will continue to monitor the situation and deploy resources in affected areas as needed.

Across the river, hundreds of southeast Iowa residents spent much of Monday without power.
Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Cirinna (SUR-ee-nuh) says Lee County had about 350 outages at its peak.
He says the county did not receive as much ice as predict, but concerns remain about tree limbs coming down and hitting power lines.
Alliant Energy reports that power has been restored to most of southeast Iowa.
