There is now a single place where senior citizens and their families can find information about independent living facilities, finance and trust services, support groups, and many other programs and services for seniors in McDonough County.
The Macomb Area AARP has issued the latest edition of its McDonough County Senior Services Directory.
“It’s a plethora of specific information for whatever condition you have,” said Mary Warnock, Chair of the Creative Elder Options Committee for the Macomb Area AARP.
Free copies of the 50 page booklet can be found at the YMCA Senior Center in Macomb, Macomb City Hall, and the Public Relations Department in the basement of McDonough District Hospital.
“Most people like to have a copy in their laps so we’ve had a thousand of these printed for the past two years,” said Warnock. “People like to have it to refer to.”
The guide is also available on the Macomb Area AARP’s website.
Warnock said the new edition includes contact information for those with feedback or who wish to report errors in the publication. The e-mail address is feedback@macombaarpceo.org
She said that is a new feature for this year.
Warnock said the committee meets eight times a year and is already beginning to work on the 2015 edition of the directory.
