Galesburg police say they arrested seven people in the shooting death of a teenager in his home. But police have not revealed a motive for the shooting.
Police said they were sent to 1126 Emery Street when a neighbor called at 11:49 p.m. about a possible robbery. Dakota Tinkham, 19, was discovered unresponsive with a gunshot wound, and declared dead by the Knox County Coroner at 12:11 a.m. Thursday. Police said Tinkham was alone in the house at the time.
The seven suspects were in court Friday afternoon:
- Miguel Romo, 19, of Galesburg, is charged with four counts of murder, four counts of home invasion, and three counts of armed robbery.
- Jovendia Williams, 18, of Galesburg, is charged with four counts of murder, four counts of home invasion, and three counts of armed robbery.
- A 17-year old juvenile is charged with four counts of murder, four counts of home invasion, and three counts of armed robbery.
- A 16-year old juvenile is charged with four counts of murder, four counts of home invasion, and three counts of armed robbery.
- Raymond Gable, 18, of Galesburg, is charged with four counts of home invasion and three counts of armed robbery.
- Charles Posey, 18, of Alexis, is charged with four counts of home invasion and three counts of armed robbery.
- Dalton McKee, 20 of Monmouth, is charged with four counts of home invasion and three counts of armed robbery.
The Knox County State’s Attorney’s Office said all seven played some kind of role in the case. The office said one of the juveniles was responsible for pulling the trigger on the weapon that killed Tinkham.
All seven have bonds of $1,000,000. The two juveniles are at the Mary Davis Home, with the remaining five in the Knox County Jail.
The next court appearance for all seven will be Monday, March 21.
