At the age of five and just having started kindergarten, Silven “Silvie” Iris Yocum became a fatal victim of child abuse on September 16, 2006. Silvie’s Ride on June 15 is in her honor and in remembrance of all children who have died because of child abuse or are living with abuse in their lives. “It is in her spirit of love that Silvie’s Ride is dedicated with the promise of sharing care and hope for many others,” said Silvie’s family.
