Legacy Theater Showcase 2024

Legacy Theater Showcase 2024
The Legacy Theater 2024 Showcase is Saturday, Jan. 20, a free event highlighting this year’s
line-up of outstanding performers coming to the theater in Carthage.
The showcase is free to anyone in the region, and reservations are not required. Doors open
at 6 p.m. for a social time with light refreshments, and the program begins at 7 p.m.
The evening features a combination of live regional acts, plus video previews of the shows
scheduled at the theater during 2024.
Performing live on stage during the evening are the Western Ramblers, a blue-grass group of
faculty and students from Western Illinois University. Contrasting that sound is the classic rock
performed by JAB, Just Another Band.
A series of videos throughout the evening will give a glimpse of the 2024 schedule, starting
with the return of The Liverpool Legends, on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m.
Other acts planned this spring include tribute shows, BeeGees Gold on March 9, Vegas
McGraw on April 20, Queen Flash on May 11, and Twitty & Lynn, a Salute to Conway and
Loretta on June 22.
Two non-musical shows providing family fun are magician Johnny Magic on Friday, May 3,
and Diggery Dinosaurs on Aug. 24, a science-based adventure featuring large, interactive
animated characters, dinosaur bones, and beautiful puppets. These shows are part of the
educational mission of The Legacy Theater.
Returning to Carthage this year is Nashville performer, Chenille Sheeran, for a fundraising
production on July 13. Chenille helped secure talent in the early days of The Legacy Theater,
and operated Center Stage Music with vocal and drama training in Carthage. In keeping with
her love of teaching, she will work with a youth choir and an adult choir of local performers
during her show.
The fall continues with “One Night in Memphis: a Tribute to Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry
Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash” on Sunday, Sept. 29. Shawn Gerhard, who brought the
Ultimate Garth Brooks in 2023, returns on Oct. 19, for “An Evening with Garth & Trisha”. The
season closes with the a capella sounds of “Rockapella Christmas” on Nov. 23, and “The
Gambler Returns: Kenny Rogers Christmas Show & the Hits” on Dec. 14.
Tickets to the 2024 season shows will be sold at the showcase and are now available Monday
through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Legacy Theater Box office, 1160 Buchanan (Rt.
136) in Carthage. Tickets can be purchased at any time on the theater website,
