The Season of Gratitude
November is here and many of us are beginning to think about our busy holiday season. Before those end-of-year holiday festivities, we will celebrate Thanksgiving. This day has long been a time to give thanks for a bountiful harvest. President Lincoln first proclaimed the last Thursday of November as Thanksgiving with the hope it would help to heal a divided nation. Today, Thanksgiving is a time to stop and celebrate our bounties, big and small. This Thanksgiving we want to know what you are thankful for; the week of Thanksgiving we will be sharing your gratitude on our airwaves and through social media.
There are several ways you can participate.
Record a voice memo on your phone and email it to the station at publicradio@wiu.edu. Your message of gratitude must be 30 seconds or less. You also need to include your name and where you live. For example: I'm Heather Norman, I live in Galesburg and I am grateful for....
Call us during office hours at (800) 895-2912 and we can record your message on our phone system. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
You can also participate on social media. Send us an email, at publicradio@wiu.edu, and tell us what you're grateful for. Please include your name and send a photo of yourself.
We cannot wait to share all the wonderful ways our listeners are grateful. We look forward to hearing from you!
