Galesburg police identified the victims and issued a warrant for first degree murder in a weekend shooting at the Cedar Creek Place public housing complex.
The suspect, Mercedes B. Jones, 29, is currently hospitalized at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria after being shot in the chest during the incident.
Jones will be taken into custody when he is released from the hospital, according to police.
Police responded around 4:20 a.m. Saturday to a report of shots fired at 1517 McKnight Street in the housing complex.
Demetrius D. Gibbs, 31, was found dead at the scene after being shot in the chest.
His family has been notified, according to police.
Jasmine, L. Casey, 26, was shot in the hand. She was transferred to St. Francis and is expected to be released soon.
The shooting remains under investigation.
