Art and Gift Market at the WCIAC

WCIAC

Holiday shoppers looking for gifts that are not mass produced might find what they’re looking for in Macomb.

The West Central Illinois Arts Center will host its annual Art and Gift Market the next two weekends.

“Nobody’s going to come and sell commercially made products,” said WCIAC Board Member Gayle Carper. “It has to be made by the artist who’s there selling.”

The market will be open Friday December 13, Saturday December 14, Friday December 20, and Saturday December 21. The Friday hours are 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and the Saturday hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The arts center is on the east side of the Courthouse Square.

Everything from fine art to folk art will be available.

“We have a lot of unique and beautiful items that people can buy as gifts,” said Nancy Crossman, WCIAC Executive Director and Board Member.

“We will have quite a range of prices but there will be a lot of reasonably priced gifts for people to select.”

All the artists are from the west central Illinois region.  Crossman said there is still time for artists to sign up to reserve space for the market.  The form can be found on the WCIAC website.

“They could choose one or both weekends,” said Crossman. “We’d love to have them."
