Full Disclosure of Close Relationships and Tax Returns

The Shop Talk panelists discuss a recent opinion piece on NPR's website that raises concerns about the long friendship between NPR Legal Affairs Correspondent Nina Totenberg and the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

The piece points out NPR never disclosed the close relationship during the many years Ginsburg served as a Supreme Court justice and Totenberg reported on the court. The piece questions whether the network provided listeners with the solid journalistic independence they’ve come to expect.

The Shop Talk panelists also touch on the recently released New York Times report about President Donald Trump’s tax returns.
