Hamilton Man Arrested for Possessing Child Pornography

Corey Johnson, 34, of Hamilton is accused of possessing child pornography with intent to disseminate.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office announced Saturday that it arrested Corey Johnson, 34, of Hamilton on Friday, May 17 for Possession of Child Pornography with intent to disseminate.

The agency said its investigation had been underway for several months and included a search of Johnson's residence and of his electronic devices, revealing the “obscene material.”

Hancock County States’ Attorney Rachel Bloom-Mast has charged Johnson with five counts of Child Pornography (Class X) and five counts of Child Pornography (Class 2).

The Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that a Class X felony carries a maximum fine of $100,000.  It also said Johnson is subject to consecutive sentences without the possibility of probation or conditional discharge if the child depicted is under the age of 13.

Johnson was booked in the Hancock County Jail on $200,000 bond.
