Housing Summits This Week

Three events scheduled for this week for focusing on housing in the tri-state region.

The Tri-State Development Summit’s Housing Task Force is taking its show on the road.

Mini-summits are scheduled for:

Wednesday, June 19
City Hall
Keokuk, IA
12:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.

Thursday, June 20
Oakley-Lindsey Center
Quincy, IL
12:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.

Friday, June 21
Centerstone Inn
Canton, MO
9:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.

Spokesperson Brent Engel says the task force normally holds a single event each year.

He says organizers decided to hold multiple events this year to make it easier for people to attend.

Engel says it also allows for the agendas to be tailored to the audiences.

"We can specifically target programs or services that are available in Iowa, in Missouri, in Illinois that affect those states and can specifcally help public officials there," says Engel.

Two of the programs and services that will be discussed are home weatherization and the availability of funding for projects.

Tammye Trevino with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Agency will be the keynote speaker for each event.

Pre-registration is encouraged but not required.
