A Keokuk man faces up to 25-years in prison for his role in a fatal hit-and-run late last week.
Devin Lewis, 19, has been charged with 1 count of Homicide by Vehicle (Class B Felony).
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says on Lewis was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Highway 218 the evening of Friday, Oct. 19.
His truck collided with a car driven by Howard Vincent, 35, of Keokuk. Vincent was traveling north in the proper set of lanes.
Vincent died at the scene from the injuries sustained in the crash.
Deputies arrived at 9:33 P.M. to find that Lewis had fled the scene on foot. He was later arrested at his home.
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
The accident remains under investigation.
