Museum Fundraises With Ice Cream Tasting Festival

The Western Illinois Museum is kicking off the summer with a sweet treat.

The Museum will celebrate their annual Ice Cream Tasting Festival hosted at The Old Dairyin Macomb.  US Foods and Performance Food Group has donated twelve flavors that will be available to sample.

The Museum's Director Sue Scott said the money raised benefits the Museums' education and exhibit programs. Some of the funds will also buy archival materials to keep their collection safe.

"It's a great community support for our organization that we really appreciate," Scott said. "And more than anything a lot of people just come and hang out and catch up, and it's the first day of summer so it's a great way to cool off, have some ice cream, and just kind of catch up with people."

Tickets for the ice cream social are $7 and can be purchased at the door or through the museum.

Scott said during the event they plan to raffle off a pair of tickets for the Cubs versus Cardinals game on July 25th at Wrigley Field.
