Nauvoo police said a man accused of sexually assaulting a child has pleaded guilty. Daniel Scott Lafferty, 34, of Nauvoo entered the open plea Thursday.
Lafferty was sentenced to 55 years in prison:
- 35 years for Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child
- 10 years for Child Pornography
- 10 years for a separate count of Child Pornography
Prosecutors said the sexual abuse happened over a two-year period.
Lafferty was arrested May 28, 2019 after police investigated allegations he sexually assaulted a child.
