Southeastern Community College is altering an agreement it has with a regional health care provider.
The Community Health Centers of Southeastern Iowa built its West Burlington facility on about five acres of land owned by the college.
As part of a lease agreement, SCC was given access to some space in the building for educational purposes, but the college no longer needs that space because it plans to add a new health services building to its West Burlington campus as part of a system-wide improvement plan.
This prompted the two sides to change the lease.
The Community Health Centers of Southeastern Iowa agreed to pay the college $200,000 in exchange for SCC no longer having access to the classroom space.
SCC will still own the property.
