SEIRPC Releases Annual Report

The Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Commission says members are more than getting their money back on their investments in the organization.

The commission has released its annual report for the fiscal year ending June 30th.  The 14-page document is available now available online.

Executive Director Mike Norris says the last fiscal year was a very successful year.

He says it starts with the commission bringing more than $12-million back to Lee, Des Moines, Henry and Louisa Counties from outside sources.

Almost half of that figure will be used by Iowa Fertilizer Company to improve an access road.

Norris says that is important because there is no local match for Lee County.

The commission says member cities and counties received $152 for every $1 dues collected during the previous fiscal year.
