Illinois State Police said one person was killed and numerous others were injured during a hay rack ride Saturday night, October 24, near Nauvoo.
The driver of the tractor-trailer reportedly lost control of the vehicle. It left the road and overturned, ejecting the driver and multiple passengers. State police said around 20 people were on board at the time.
Update: Illinois State Police have identified the person killed as Amy M. Swinderman, 32, of Hamilton.
Three other adults and more than a dozen children were taken to local hospitals to be treated for injuries.
State police identified the driver as Wayne York, 41, of Nauvoo. He was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
