UPDATED STORY - Crime: Jailbreak in Fulton County; Shooting Investigations in Galesburg & Macomb

The Fulton County Sheriff's Department said four inmates escaped from the county jail.  Correctional officers discovered the jailbreak Wednesday night.

The department said the escapees should be considered armed and dangerous.

The department is working with several other agencies, including the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force, in the search for the inmates, who are:

  • Jesse Davis, who was jailed on weapons and meth charges
  • Zachary Hart, who was jailed on home invasion, weapons, and other charges
  • Eugene Roets, who was jailed on aggravated battery, weapons, meth, and other charges
  • Cody Villalobos, who was jailed on weapons, meth, and other charges

UPDATE on Friday, June 9:

The sheriff’s department said three of four inmates have been captured.

Jesse Davis was apprehended in Fulton County, while Eugene Roets and Cody Villalobos were caught in Peoria County.

Galesburg Shooting

The city said a man was shot four times Monday in the 900 block of Jefferson Street.

Police said the bullets struck the man in his abdomen area. He was treated in Galesburg before being life-flighted to Peoria. 

Police said he is expected to survive.

The case remains under investigation.

Macomb Shootings

Macomb police said they have made arrests in two cases of shots being fired near the downtown area Tuesday night.

The first happened shortly before 9:00 p.m. at Chandler Park. Police said the shots came from a group of boys who fired at a passing vehicle.

No one was injured.

Police said they took a 15-year old boy into custody early Wednesday. They said he knew the people in the vehicle.

The boy is charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Assault. Authorities took him to the Mary David Detention Home in Galesburg.

The second shooting was reported around 10:30 p.m. at Adams and Lafayette Streets.

Police said Damon Niethe, 24, of Bushnell, fired at his brother. Police said the two had been arguing.

No one was injured.

Damon Niethe is charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Possession of Ammunition by a Felon.

Police said Holli Warner, 26, also of Bushnell, was also charged in the case. She is accused of Mob Action.

Both were taken to the McDonough County Jail.
