The Burlington School District could have a new superintendent by the end of the night.
The school board will consider a three-year contract for Patrick Coen during a special meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Coen is a native of Burlington. He currently serves as the superintendent of the Winfield-Mt. Union school district in nearby Henry County.
The contract calls for a starting salary of $185,000 plus benefits.
Coen would replace Jane Evans, who is retiring. Her last day on the job is Monday, June 30.
