The National Weather Service said occasional light snow or flurries can be expected today. Frigid wind chills are expected tonight.

Very cold temperatures and well below zero wind chills will remain across the area into early next week. The coldest readings are likely from Saturday night into Monday.

There is a chance of light snow Thursday, and another round of light snow is possible Friday into Saturday morning. There is a moderate chance for 1 inch or more of accumulation across most of the outlook area Friday into Saturday, and a slight chance southeast of a line from Macomb to Carthage.

North to northwest winds might lead to blowing and drifting snow during this time.
