Courthouse News Service reported that after more than a year of litigation, the state court in Austin, Texas opened a review queue that allows journalists to report on e-filed civil complaints as they are received.
Courthouse News Service described it as bringing traditional access into the electronic era.
Clerks and administrators who fought for delays in access often claimed they need to review filings for confidential information. But supporters of the change said that responsibility lies with the filing lawyer.
