A local man is in custody following a fatal shooting in Galesburg.
Christopher E. Alfaro, 27, is charged with first-degree murder and aggravated battery.
On Aug. 17, police found Heath D. Williams Sr. 47, with multiple gunshot wounds in a residence in the 1400 block of Moshier Avenue.
Willliams died several hours later at OSF Saint Mary Medical Center.
Police issued a warrant for Alfaro on Wednesday. According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Alfaro was taken into custody without incident later that day.
He is in the Knox County jail awaiting a court appearance.
