Keokuk Foundation Continues to Grow

The Keokuk Area Community Foundation is working towards its next major milestone.

The foundation has been in existence for less than nine years.

Executive Director Roger Ricketts says its endowment crossed the $2-million mark in December 2012.  He says the growth continues with more than $100,000 secured since the start of 2013.

Ricketts says more than $500,000 has been distributed through grants to dozens of organizations throughout Lee (IA), Hancock (IL), Clark (MO) and Lewis (MO).

“We believe that the dollars generous people give us to hold in trust are making a difference in the tri-state area.”

Ricketts says the foundation’s assets have continued to grow, even during the economic downturn, because people tend to donate more during difficult times.

He says the foundation is proud to be sponsoring an upcoming leadership event for Keokuk’s new Young Professionals organization.

Ricketts presented an update on the foundation during the March RAP breakfast.
