The former emergency department at the shuttered Cottage Hospital in Galesburg will soon be home to OSF PromptCare.

OSF PromptCare in Galesburg is moving into the former Cottage Hospital emergency department.

Cottage Hospital closed in January, days before it was set to lose Medicare and Medicaid funding due to numerous violations.

The hospital’s license was later revoked by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

OSF HealthCare acquired the property in April.

OSF PromptCare is currently located at 3375 N. Seminary St. on the campus of OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

It is a walk-in clinic designed to assess and treat minor illnesses and injuries when a patient’s primary care provider is unavailable.

The former Cottage emergency department is being renovated to provide more capacity for urgent care services, including on-site lab and imaging, for Galesburg and the surrounding communities.

A specialty medical department will then move into the current PromptCare building, according to OSF.

OSF’s Medical Group’s Primary Care clinic in Knoxville is also moving, from 104 S. Broad St. to 904 E. Main St.
