Fatal house fire in Monmouth

One person is dead after a house fire in Monmouth.

Firefighters responded to 314 W. 3rd Ave. around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, and were informed someone was in the house.

They found the front of the home fully engulfed in flames.

Crews found the victim within minutes of arriving on scene, according the Monmouth Fire Department.

The identify of the victim has not been released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the state fire marshal.
