Macomb, IL – You will soon be able to find a Looking for Lincoln site in Macomb.
The Macomb Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is commemorating Lincoln's connection with the city by putting up a lighted sign on the Courthouse Lawn.
President Katherine Walker says this is an important time to recognize Lincoln's ties with Macomb. Walker says it is a good program to be a part of, especially with the emphasis on the upcoming celebrations in 2009.
Walker says the sign will be a double-sided, free standing exhibit. She says one side will focus on the courthouse, where he spoke, and the other side on the Randolph House, where Lincoln once stayed.
Walker says a dedication ceremony has been tentatively set for October 26th. Walker says that is the anniversary date of when Lincoln made a stop in Macomb.
