Carthage, IL – The 336 Impact Study Committee for Carthage is now evaluating a 240-page report that suggests development guidelines for the area around where the town's interchange will be. Committee Chairman John Houston says the plan will try to put similar businesses together, create an industrial zone, and suggest guidelines for beautification in the 600-plus acre region. The study was paid for with a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation. Houston says the goal was to create good space for businesses while preserving an attractive entrance to the town from the highway.
