Rushville, IL – The Illinois Department of Agriculture wants more information before it permits a large-scale hog operation north of Rushville. Jeff Squibb of the Illinois Department of Agriculture says his agency has asked Hilltop Farms for more information about the construction proposed for Oakland Township east of Littleton. He says they also want more details about traffic the farm might generate. He says the department will have 10 business days aftere the information is provided to approve or deny the operation. The Schuyler County Board voted 6-1 to not-recommend the operation. Board Chairman Brian Peak says there were concerns about liability and heavy traffic on township roads.
