Carthage, IL – Carthage's Industrial Development Corporation is doing infrastructure studies on the land near where Route 336 will pass the town. Economic Developer Brenda Pyatt says the first study will look at what utility improvements are needed and where the lines should be installed. She says there will also be a study of whether the existing sewage treatment plant can handle growth. A second study by the town's engineer will divide the 150-acre parcel into individual lots along projected streets. Pyatt says the two studies will give the city council a chance to estimate what the cost of infrastructure improvements will be and to begin budgeting for it.
