County Seeks Missing Grant Items

Macomb, IL – McDonough County is trying to track down about $15,000 worth of items that were part of purchases from a Homeland Security grant. Board Chairman Bob Harwick believes the items were part of purchase orders sent to the Alexis Fire Equipment Company, which also prepared the two emergency trailers that are part of the grant. He says the items might not have been sent to the county, or might have been delivered to the wrong agency. The missing items include decontamination equipment and things such as latex gloves. Harwick says tracking down the supplies is complicated by the fact the county employed three ESDA directors during the past year.
