Hamilton, IL – Dozens of residents filled Hamilton's City Hall to discuss the future of land on the city's southeast side, between Highway 136 and the old Dike Road. Roger MacDermott, with the Hamilton Community Development Coalition, says the land could be a real asset for the city. Some of the most popular ideas for the land include a hiking and biking trail, a shelter house, and a walking bridge where the old covered bridge once stood. MacDermott says the walking bridge will be built as soon as the money is raised. He says the ideas from the public meeting will be reviewed and implemented when possible.
