Rushville, IL – Schuyler County now has its first tourism magazine. Economic development director Carol Montague says her office realized the need when possible workers at the nearby detention center began asking about Rushville and the county. She says the 52-page magazine includes business listings, historical information, maps and an events calendar for the year. Montague will issue a brochure next year with updated events and then re-do the magazine in the following year. The first year's publication was helped by a state grant for more than $9,000 that covered about 40 percent of the cost. The balance came from advertising and economic development funds.
