Hamilton, IL – A proposed 3 district school reorganization in Hancock County is slowly moving forward. One of Hamilton's goals for the new school year is to pursue consolidation with Nauvoo-Colusa and Warsaw. Superintendent Jim Jackson says the school board favors one school district, as opposed to creating one high school district and multiple elementary districts through convergence. He says the reorganization discussions must move ahead. Jackson says Hamilton would like to see an elementary school in each community, a middle school campus and a high school campus, under the authority of one unified district. Hamilton, Warsaw, and Nauvoo-Colusa received the results of a reorganization feasibility study months ago, though little has been discussed prior to Hamilton making its stance public. A meeting between the superintendents and two school board members, from each district, will be held September 6 in Nauvoo.
