Macomb Fire Rating Improves

Macomb, IL – The Insurance Services Office has boosted Macomb's fire insurance rating from a five to a four. Fire Chief Andy Taylor says that indicates better fire fighting capabilities and could mean a savings on business or homeowner fire insurance premiums. Taylor says the office visits a town about every ten years. Agents check factors ranging from the dispatch center to water supply to staff training. He says among factors that have improved since the last inspection include a new ladder truck, improvements in the 911 dispatching procedure and more and better water mains in the city.
