Fort Madison, IA – One of the potential Democratic Presidential candidates says the next Commander-In-Chief must make education a top national priority. Former Virginia Governor, Mark Warner, says the federal government must reverse current trends and give children the chance to received the best education in the world. Warner says there is no single solution to the problem. He says he would work to implement some of the programs developed during his time in office in Virginia. They include additional college credits for high school students, expanded vocational courses for non-college bound students, and increased access to high-speed internet. Warner says the next president must also work to bring a sense of hope to rural communities and to restore national pride in all Americans. Warner, who has yet to officially enter the 2008 presidential race, made his comments during a recent stop in Fort Madison.
