Canton, IL – Spoon River College has adopted an almost $15 million budget for the current year. Spokeswoman Anna Buehrer says the spending plan is about %550,000 more than the previous budget. She says the main increases are for contracts in place, expected salary payments and expected utility rate increases. The budget does not include money for work on the building the college purchased that will be the eventual main Macomb campus. She says that will come in the following two years. The college is still negotiating with faculty and staff unions.
