Macomb, IL – McDonough County's half-time ESDA Director is taking on a full-time police job as well. Dan Kreps has started work as a patrolman with the Office of Public Safety at WIU. He says there should be no conflict between the jobs. OPS Director Robert Fitzgerald has approved Kreps having both jobs. In addition, Kreps will continue as police chief for Colchester. OPS Director Robert Fitzgerald says he wants to avoid frequent turnover in the ESDA slot, and believes Kreps can fulfill both jobs. The county has had three ESDA directors in just a few years. Kreps also recently resigned as director of homeland security for the McDonough County Health Department when he learned he would become a patrolman.
