Macomb, IL – A couple dozen Macomb residents are taking the first steps in shaping the vision for the city's future. The residents are members of the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee. They met Thursday night with representatives of the community planning company Teska Associates. Teska Vice President Michael Hoffman says a number of issues have already been brought up. They include housing, technology infrastructure, and quality growth. He also says it's clear that residents feel the courthouse square and the university make Macomb unique. Hoffman says a website for the project should be ready within a couple weeks and a survey will be distributed in January. The new comprehensive plan should be in place by September.
