Rushville, IL – Rushville aldermen have delayed action on a 10 percent water rate hike to get more information. Mayor Ron Shepherd says the council wants a better breakdown of how the rate will cover labor, chemicals and distribution expenses. He says the city is now charging less than it costs to process the water. The rate hike ordinance is scheduled for discussion later this month. The new rates will affect both the bi-monthly water and sewer bills.
