Fire Dep't. Gets FEMA Grant

Macomb, IL – A Federal Emergency Management Agency grant will help the Macomb Fire Department get some new equipment. Fire Chief Andy Taylor says the $50,000 package will be mainly used for rescue equipment. He says the grant is part of a program designed to equip departments to rescue trapped fire fighters. Taylor says the same equipment can be used to rescue fire victims who are trapped in a burning building. The grant will also replace a pair of thermal imaging cameras and provide some new turn-out gear.
