Macomb, IL – The Western Illinois University Archives will be receiving about 400 boxes of the papers of Congressman Lane Evans. Archivist Jeff Hancks says those, along with 700 boxes from Evans' predecessor. Tom Railsback, will span a 40-year stretch to give a local slant on national issues. Hancks says it will take about one year to process the papers. The work includes eliminating duplicates, and preparing a pamphlet showing what's in each box. He says eventually the index information will go on the internet so scholars will know what type of information they might find.
