Keokuk, IA – The Lee County Compensation Board is recommending a 4% pay hike, during the upcoming fiscal year, for the county's elected leaders. The increase would be for the treasurer, recorder, sheriff, attorney, auditor, and board of supervisors. The 4% recommnedation creates the maximum hike possible. The supervisors, though, have the final say and could approve a lower across-the-board pay increase. The panel discussed recommending 3% and 5% before settling on 4%. Union contract negotiations and the county's overall budget picture will factor in when it comes to the supervisors' final decision.
