Aldermen to Learn Water Costs

Carthage, IL – Carthage aldermen will meet soon with the city engineer to learn what it will cost to provide an alternate water supply for the city. Mayor Jim Nightingale says the lake is not providing enough water, and the pipeline from Hamilton would not meet all of the city's needs should that become necessary. He says the pipeline fittings could be altered to allow it to provide more water. A well is also a possibility, but that would require much more expensive water treatment.
