Macomb Amtrak Ridership Increasing

Macomb, IL – Passenger numbers are increasing on the two Amtrak routes which pass through Macomb. Macomb Travel manager John Vigezzi says figures for November of last year show about a 35 percent increase, with December figures likely to come in at similar levels. Vigezzi says having a second train come from Chicago in the morning is attracting passengers who might not have been able to reserve space on the other train. In addition, it gives them a chance for lower rates if the alternate train is not heavily booked.
